Information we process
You can browse football results and statistics without a website account. When you create or use an account, we process your email address, authentication and session information, and the profile details you provide, such as your username, display name, biography and avatar. We also store saved picks, favourites and follows associated with your account.
Public profiles and picks marked public can be viewed by other visitors. Your public username may be generated from the part of your email address before the @ sign; you can change it in your account. Avoid using a username or profile text that reveals information you do not want to make public.
If you contact us, we process your email address, the message and any information you choose to include. Requests to our website and servers also involve technical information such as IP addresses, requested URLs, browser information, timestamps and error or security records.
The ChatGPT plugin
The Match Terminal plugin receives the arguments ChatGPT sends to its football data tools, including team names, opponents, dates, competition or status filters, result limits and the internal identifier of a selected match. It uses these inputs to search our football database and return available results, team statistics, match events and pre-match metrics.
The plugin does not require a Match Terminal account or payment information. Its application code does not intentionally store chat transcripts or a history of tool arguments. Requests still pass through network infrastructure, which can process connection details and technical logs. Do not put private or sensitive information in football search fields.
The plugin card displays returned football information without loading external analytics scripts or images. Opening a link from the card to our website is a separate website visit, subject to the website practices described in this notice.
OpenAI operates ChatGPT and processes your conversations and account information under its own privacy policy and your ChatGPT settings. This notice covers Match Terminal’s handling of plugin requests, not OpenAI’s processing.
Why we use information
We use account and session information to provide the account features you request, maintain your preferences, and display the public content you choose to publish. Where applicable, this processing is necessary to provide our service to you.
We use technical information to keep the service secure, investigate faults and abuse, and maintain reliable access. We use support messages to respond to your requests and resolve problems. These activities serve our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, subject to your applicable rights.
We use website analytics to understand how pages are used and improve the service. Where a particular use requires consent, we must obtain that consent. We may also retain or disclose information when necessary to comply with a legal obligation.
Cookies and website analytics
Website authentication uses cookies or browser storage to maintain your session. Blocking or clearing this storage may sign you out or prevent account features from working.
The website loads self-hosted Umami analytics from umami.matchterminal.org. It measures page visits and information such as referring pages, browser and device categories, and approximate location. Umami is designed to operate without analytics cookies. Network requests to the analytics service still involve technical connection information. The ChatGPT plugin card does not include this analytics script.
Service infrastructure and sharing
Our services use self-hosted servers, Supabase software for the website’s database and authentication, and Umami software for analytics. Cloudflare provides website delivery and security services and can process request information for those purposes. Email services process messages sent to our contact address.
Access to non-public account information and support messages is limited to operating, supporting and protecting the service. Public profile information and public picks are visible as described above. We may disclose information where required by law or necessary to investigate misuse or protect legal rights.
Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where applicable data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, those requirements apply. Contact us for information about the processing relevant to your request.
How long information is kept
Account information, preferences and saved content are kept while needed to provide your account features, unless deleted or otherwise required for a legal or security purpose. Contact us to request deletion of your account and associated personal information.
Support messages are kept for as long as needed to handle the request and any related follow-up or dispute. Technical records are subject to storage limits and rotation; their lifetime depends on traffic and the system producing them. Backups or records retained for legal or security reasons may remain after information is removed from active use. We assess retention according to the purpose of the information rather than treating it as an indefinite record of your activity.
Your choices and rights
You can update available profile settings, choose what to publish, and manage authentication storage through your browser. You can use the plugin without a Match Terminal account and remove its connection through ChatGPT settings.
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal information, restrict processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests, receive a portable copy of information, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out on that basis.
Email our privacy contact to make a request. We may ask for proportionate information to verify that the request concerns your data; do not send passwords or identification documents unless we have explained why they are needed. You may also complain to the data-protection authority responsible for your location.
Security and changes
We use access controls and technical measures to protect information. No internet service can promise absolute security. This notice may change when the service or its data handling changes; the date above identifies the latest update.
